Time to say thanks to our Learning Support Volunteers

In celebration of Volunteers’ Week Birmingham Adult Education Service (BAES) would like to give a very special mention to our wonderful learning support volunteers and thank them for their invaluable contributions towards the progress and achievements of our learners in various subjects, at different levels from beginners to advanced. We cannot thank them enough!

Their support has continued even online, as we, just like other education establishments, have had to transfer our teaching and learning to the various online learning platforms. Our volunteers have willingly adapted and kindly continued to apply their skills to provide much needed additional support to learners in subjects such as Maths, English, Modern Foreign Languages, IT, ESOL and courses for learners with learning difficulties & disabilities and we would like to acknowledge their invaluable contributions.

Our volunteers come from all walks of life, ages and backgrounds, with a variety of skills, qualifications and most importantly, empathy and patience for which BAES staff and learners are very appreciative. Volunteer support has contributed immensely to learners achieving high level qualifications, life skills, personal targets and progression to paid employment, as well as further education.

If you would like to volunteer with BAES please contact Sona Odogwu on volunteering@baes.ac.uk.
